Toreros Authentic Mexican Cuisine Menu

Not too many places in South Florida have pretty good Mexican food, but Toreros is awesome. They start you out with chips, salsa and their awesome Queso cheese dip. I usually go for the fajitas quesadillas (see pic)! Freaken delicious! Everything here is authentic! The food, the service and they also have a decent list of Mexican brews (I recommend the Dos Equis Amber Ale). In West Palm and looking for some good authentic, sit-down Mexican food for a pretty sweet price? Toreros it is.

On a Monday night before July 4th in Palm Beach county, many restaurants might be closed or very quiet. My first dining experience at a fairly new Mexican restaurant, Torero's was the opposite. At 7:30pm, an active dining room. A good sign? I enjoyed the night's special "Macho Burrito" with Piccadillo meat (meat & pork). Ingredients were fresh (lettuce, Tom. Etc.). Service was friendly and prompt. I will be back, when another visit may add another star to the review.

I have to have Mexican food about twice a week and Torrero's is my favorite. It's definitely more on the Tex-Mex side of things but just super delicious. I always get the enchiladas - beef and chicken, but lately their pork tamales have been calling my name. Their margaritas are excellent as well. I highly recommend this place!

Went on a whim and loved it. Food was excellent, server was attentive. Will definitely come back.

Hidden gem! I went in with no expectations. Good Mexican food is so hard to find in south Florida. If you're ever in West Palm this place is a must. Clean space and great staff.

Chips and salsa were fast to the table and fresh. Wait staff had our drinks there before we could even flip through the long menu. I think this place had decent to good Mexican food. Had spice to it and great overall experience for a low end price.

Best mexican food in south Florida bar none. Friendliest people too. We go there almost ever week - it's that good. Do yourself a favor, go to Toreros.

    Huge portions authentic Mexican

Ah the hunt for great Mexican continues. It just seems that West Palm in general lacks in this cuisine. Anyways, salsa is decent. Cheese dip is good. Fajita nachos were ok also. Portion size. There is big, huge, etc and then this place. I think the word for portion size here is, unnecessary. Bit on the pricey side for Mexican but I suppose that can be linked to how much food you're getting.

Delicious food! I am upset that they don't deliver anymore though :(

We had a little trouble finding the restaurant as google said it would be on the other side of the street. It turned out to be in the same complex as the Publix, next to Rock Fitness in a little corner, very easy to miss. The restaurant was almost completely empty, but maybe it was an off time. I have to preface that I am a Texan, so I am used to Tex-Mex which is almost impossible to find in South Florida. We like our food hot in Texas, perhaps because contrary to popular belief, it is actually much hotter in Texas than South Florida. As far as the food at Toreros, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable. The salsa was a little bland. There wasn't the desired spice in anything. The margaritas were good, although they didn't have much variety (only regular, strawberry, and mango from what I could gather). Of course, I end with the caveat that Mexican food seems to be a food type rife with disagreements. Do you like California style, New Mexican style, Tex-Mex, or authentic interior?? So just because I don't like this restaurant doesn't mean you won't. That's probably why this restaurant gets reviews all over the map. At any rate, we won't go out of our way to return.

Moved to Florida from the West coast, finally found authentic Mexican food. I had searched and tried several other locations but Torero's is by far the best. I had a chimichanga & enchilada combo that was amazing. Their horchata drink was just like the one I remember drinking as a child in the plazas in Mexico. I will be there very often!

Tres Amigos plate was great! Definitely authentic Mexican. I lived in SoCal for many years and got married down in Baja so I have eaten a lot of different types of Mexican food.

First of all, I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but was craving some today so I settled in this one. It is hard to find (right next to crunch fitness) but large once you get inside. Service was super fast throughout the dining experience. The margaritas are the best I have had at a restaurant here. They actually taste like tequila, and not margarita mix. I ordered the Vegi-chilada which was not bad, just common. No real Mexican flavors. Just a lot of cheese. Take away the rice and beans and the portion was nothing spectacular. A drink and meal was $20, which I thought was high for a place like this.

Review is based on 1 lunch. It was an "on a whim" stop for lunch and we were not disappointed. It is much larger on the inside than the outside eludes to; it is classically brightly colored, with large booths and tables. They have a full bar and pride themselves on sangria and margaritas of many flavors - and that part I can vouch for. I really enjoyed the mango margarita (of which I had plural) and the sangria was unique and tasty too. A nice touch was that they brought out salsa and chips to start, and both myself and my friend got our own salsa dips. I appreciated this touch, sans the big bowl of double-dipped saliva a la salsa :) I ordered the chicken chimichanga which came with rice, beans, sour cream, guac, and salad stuff. My friend had the veggie spinach burrito, which came with the same additions. Both were ordered off the lunch menu and were below $10, margaritas were $7 and sangria $5.50 - can't really beat those prices. Would be interested in going back for dinner and drinks, would love it even more if they cleared some of the tables and had a band and salsa dancing too!

Sub-par Mexican food, lack of flavor over all, underwhelmed. If you've had GOOD Mexican food you don't want to come here. It's margarita was even bland.... However those that sate less adventurous with there tastebuds will like it, as it is clean, bland and there is no risk of anything being to spicy.

Everything was excellent! We live in California where there's very good Mexican food. This was better! All three of us totally enjoyed our meals.

This place is really fantastic. It's cheap, quick and delicious. It's our go-to Mexican. The regular enchilada sauce is spot on for the beef enchiladas. They also have a variety of different sauces. I've also had the chicken enchiladas a la crema. So good.

Toreros offers decent Mexican food in West Palm. It's no Aleyda's, but it's alright. We were seated immediately and were given some chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty fresh tasting, but nothing too amazing. I ordered some jalapeno poppers to start and they were pretty good -- actually better than the ones I got at Rocco's Tacos and half the price too. I like that there was a good deal of cream cheese in the poppers since some places can get that wrong. They were a little small, but there were plenty of poppers so I think they were reasonably priced. I got the fajitas for lunch and enjoyed them. The chicken was pretty moist but lacked overall flavor, which I remedied with the salsa and hot sauce. The peppers and onions worked great with the meal though. Toreros is a good choice if you're in the area and want something quick, but it's nothing that will blow your mind.

Terrible! Waited 15 minutes before we got menus. on the menus there is no descriptions of the entrees. so we had tons of questions. waiter was annoyed. the chips were stale and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. the food was cold and not what we asked for. the server was so rude and when I sent my dish back because it was not what I ordered, he didn't offer to replace it or bring me a menu so I could pick something else. he simply walked away and never came back to the table except to give us our check. he charged for my entree anyways. we questioned the bill and got a huge attitude and actually were yelled at. we were very embarrassed and went next door to the little taco place and told them the whole story and they said that they heard many many complaints from people about that place. never never never again!!!! and I have no idea what people are you still in Florida for Mexican food but this was the worst I've ever had. not to mention the extremely rude service.

Authentic and fresh Mexican food. Great chips and salsa. Love the variety in their menu including Mexican style fried fish.

Nasty awful food, guacamole was made in a blender. The sauce was out of a can. The steak in my burrito was dried out. Really wanted to like this place and I will say the server was friendly and efficient but it all comes down to the food and this food sucks.

An Authentically bad place to eat!!! This is the second time in the last two weeks that we have eaten there and both times have been disasterous. The service is mediocre to say the best and when there is something wrong with the food they are slow to fix it, and that's if they bother to stop by the table after dropping off the food. And when there are multiple things wrong, they do nothing to compensate you for it. They put pork on my husband's plate (who does not eat pork for personal reasons) and we still ended up paying full price for the meal and they did not offer to make him something else- they didn't come back during the meal for us to tell them there was the wrong meat in his chimichunga. The food was okay, it was nothing special but it was not bad food by any means, but people please save your money - I had a better dinning experience at Chick-fil-a 3 days ago!

Love this place! Food is great. Chips and salsa are yummy. You have to try the Mojarra, fantastic. I've now taken at least 4 people there to try it and all of them loved it. Also love the Molcajete, I was thrilled to see it on the menu, it was a favorite of mine in Colorado.

I went with my family last night. I would rate at two and a half stars. Start with chips and salsa. The chips were good and they refilled when asked The salsa was at best ok, as it had little taste and tasted like canned tomato sauce. The drinks were ok but small. I ordered the stuffed poblano pepper. The menus said peppers but there was just one. The single was enough but it said "Peppers". The pepper was soggy not crispy as I think it should have been. The rice and beans had a nice flavor. Overall the meal was OK but not making come back soon.

Great food. Service was off today. Will definitely try again!! Enchiladas were amazing.

  • Nathan W.

Chips were perfect - hot, fresh, perfectly salted, not to thin/thick, nice and crispy. Salsa was ok - flavor was balanced, but personally, we like our salsas a little thicker. Queso blanco (think Moe's white queso dip) - this was DELICIOUS and perfectly spiced, slightly on the runny side but the flavor more than made up for the consistency Chicken quesadilla - pretty solid, definitely plenty of chicken, nothing too special but good Like others have said, the prices are a little high, but the portions are just ridiculously large. We would be more than willing to trade less money for less food. UPDATE (5/18/13) Wife and I have been back 3 times already. It's right around the corner from our house and the queso blanco dip alone is worth the trip. Also, there is a coupon for 25% of your entire check on PalmBeachCuisine.com , which you can print as many times as you like. Still wouldn't say it's world's greatest, but the service is superb, the price is great (with the coupon), and it's a stone's throw from mi casa. I've updated my initial review from 3 to 4 stars due to the incredibly accommodating staff. My wife ordered a chicken quesadilla. When it came out, she took 1 bite and remembered that she didn't like shredded chicken. She (against my pleading) asked the waiter if they could make her a new one with sliced chicken, instead. To my absolute shock, he said "yes" without even hesitating. Now that's customer service! Personally, I don't believe any restaurant should ever have to accommodate you to that level, but wifey made me eat my words that night; I always tell her that, "you do not have because you do not ask."

Really good Mexican good. We loved the chicken enchiladas both Suizza and red sauce. Salsa was fresh and had great flavor. Very good queso dip and chips. Service was quick and friendly.

By far the best Mexican food in South Florida. Not a fancy place but clean, priced right, great margaritas, and great food. Service is fantastic. We take friends all the time. If you want real Mexican food, go here.

I am in West Palm Beach for work, and I was craving some good Mexican and a margarita after a 6am flight and long day. Torero's did not disappoint. The margarita was inexpensive and really good, and the rice and beans were out of this world. The one tiny criticism that I had was the enchilada sauce, which was clearly from a can. I probably should have opted for the mole rather than red sauce, but this place is very good overall. If this place was in Boston I would go on a regular basis for sure, and if I am ever here again I will definitely go back. Tip: go during happy hour for $5.50 margaritas.

My wife and I just moved here from MN and were looking for some good Mexican food. Thanks to Yelp we tried Toreros.. Well, I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. We started out with the chips and salsa.. The salsa is runny and pretty bland. I had to add hot sauce to give it any sort of spice. The chips were just OK. Not hot and warm or anything special. I ordered a diet coke and then the Tres Amigos for the main course. Well 2 of the 3 main course items in the Tres Amigos were bland, especially the Chili Relleno.... Also the meat in one of the courses was very chewy. Only one I could consider "good". Also service was slow and I never got a refill on my diet coke. (or my water) He may have noticed it later, as the diet coke never ended up showing up on the bill. So next time we'll be trying someplace else.. maybe the taco place just down the building from them.

The Steak Tacos Carbon are amazing. I like the quest blanco as well as any place. The people are friendly and the kitchen staff are meticulous about taste, quality, presentation and portion. They have really good avocado dip (guacamole). The plates came out clean as did the silverware. The tea was tasty and the big screens gave you reason to utilize the full liquor bar. Beer is expensive, domestics are $4.50 and imports are 5.50 shots are $6. So goes alcohol sales. I've been three times and never disappointed. Food pricing is at standard maybe slightly under but quality; exceptional. The chips and salsa are homemade daily, to. There's a nice breeze on the outside walkway with tables and servers for those who smoke. It's a nice place. I recommend it to families as well as business luncheons. Yum!!

To be fair, I'm a Californian by birth. With that disclosed, why is it that the South cannot figure out Mexican food? The salsa tasted like pasta sauce, their hot salsa was no hotter than medium pace. The rice and beams had very little flavor. With that being said, the carnitas were good. The frozen margarita was decent too.

Excellent Mexican food. The taquitos were excellent. The chicken quesadillas were very good. Would definitely recommend this if you are looking for Mexican.

Torero's opened up not too long ago. It's a standard Mexi-merican fare with huge portions and some decent food. Especially good for curing hangovers. Everyone's been nice the two times my wife and I have eaten here and we like to stop in for a decently fast Mexican Meal when we're feeling like some fluffy rice, slightly runny beans, well cooked meats, and bottomless chips and salsa.

Just what we've been looking for. This is great mexican food at a great price. The lunch specials are VERY reasonably priced. The margaritas are good (and strong!) and they even have a few tables for outside seating. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
